Thanks to all who attended the Inaugural Seminar co-sponsored by the Southern HIV & Alcohol Research Consortium (SHARC) and the UF Center for Addiction Research & Education held this week. Dr. Kelly Cue Davis’ lecture highlighted her work integrating alcohol effects, sexual aggression, and sexual risk. It was a stellar exemplar of using theoretically-driven, empirically informed clinical research to address critical societal issues in the field of substance use/misuse. For those who want more information, or missed the talk and want to see what it’s all about, please visit Dr. Davis’ Arizona State University profile page. Finally, thanks to Dr. Bob Cook, Director, SHARC for his strong support and a special thanks to Dr. Rob Leeman who not only nominated Dr. Davis, but also ensured the visit was a smashing success. Looking forward to next year!
Dr. Sara Jo Nixon, Director, UF CARE
